Spotify, the music and podcast streaming service, tweeted, Something’s not quite right, and. The Swedish music streaming company later tweeted: “Everything’s looking much better now! Give a shout if you still need help”. (NEXSTAR) Several online platforms, including Spotify and Discord, experienced web outages Tuesday. Spotify had earlier tweeted: “Something’s not quite right, and we’re looking into it. “We thank you for your patience while we worked on resolving the issue.” Otti wrote: 'my spotify logged me out while i was abt to shower so i used youtube, it was so depressing.' At 6.25pm Discord acknowledged the faults on Twitter, writing: 'We’re aware of an issue. We have identified a probable root cause and will be publishing an Incident Report within the next several days,” said Google Cloud. These cookies are necessary for the service to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. Snapchat, Spotify, Discord and other major web services ran into problems because of an issue. “The issue with Traffic Director has been confirmed to be caused by a recent release the release has been rolled back and customers can now start using Traffic Director. A Google service has gone down and taken many of the largest parts of the internet down with it. If the two outages were related, then it would normally be expected that there would be reports of other major services going down as well, especially if the problem was at the DNS or server level.However, that wasn’t really the case. The Google Cloud status page mentions a glitchy update to the Traffic Director component that Discord cited. Strangely, Discord was also down today and appeared to have started encountering issues around the same time as Spotify. “Spotify didn’t go into detail, but a case study posted by Google Cloud confirms they’re also a customer and that may explain the sudden issues for both services,” reports The Verge. Update 3/8: Both Spotify and Discord are starting to come back online after extended downtime earlier today. Both the platforms came back online on Wednesday morning. The outages that affected both Spotify and Discord started late on Tuesday and were fixed by Google Cloud teams after a couple of hours. Spotify and Discord users globally including in India were left without songs and posts after outages linked to Google Cloud disconnected both platforms.
